Here's the rest of the spring pea harvest. We took out a handful to save for seed and were left with a quart and a half to eat over the next few days. Now it was lots of fun picking all the peas and shelling them but it took roughly 2 hours. Rex is a big fan of self sufficiency. His ancestors lived off the land and never had a need for much cash. He figures we could too. I'm a little hesitant to embrace the idea. I would love knowing exactly where our food comes from. And it would be earnest, honest work. But 2 hours to collect and shell a quart and a half of peas...yikes!
